      Madrileños call themselves “Gatos” (Cats) and as all cats, Madrileños are busy at night partying till wee hours. Madrid's nightlife never stops. Nightlife at Madrid start late and seldom ends before 2 a.m. Nightlife starts with tapas hopping and then graduates to hopping cocktail bars, sipping exceptionally strong cocktails or vermouth.

      The nightlife of Madrid is underrated for most visitors who make Museums and Royalty the focus of their Madrid visit. Madrid has one of the best nightlife scenes in all of Spain, nothing like the wild parties of Ibiza or Costa del Sol but Madrid nightclubs and nightlife is a lot more classy and textured. Whether you like upscale nightlife or indie music, themed nightclubs or traditional bars, Madrid nightlife areas have it all. The sheer diversity of nightlife in Madrid is the reason why you should keep aside an evening or more to experience it. Each district of Madrid has a different vibe to it and so the different nightlife areas of the city deserve a closer look before you plan your evening. Some tourists prefer to skip the cocktail circuit and instead head for one of the tablaos featuring traditional flamenco performances.
