Paseo del Arte – Madrid Art walk pass
The highly popular Madrid Art Walk pass gives you an effective 20% discount, plus skip the line access to the 3 world class museums of Madrid. Museo Prado, Thyssen Bornemisza, and Reina Sofia. It can be bought online at any of the museum sites.
The 3 museums are all located on a single stretch of Paseo del Prado near the Retiro Park. They can be visited in any order with some advance planning. Each museum can be visited once and the card is valid for one year from first use. Decide if it is worth it for you.
Visitors can buy this card for 1,2,3 or 5 days. The card has free or discounted access to over 50 museums in Madrid. In addition there are discounts for shopping, nightlife, restaurants, bars, tours, and shows. Madrid card does not include travel but includes the Hop on Hop off bus tour.
(NOTE: Sales of this card are discontinued as of now and I do not know when it will be reactivated. Many say that this card was not so successful and will not be reintroduced.)
Madrid City Pass
This is a diluted version of the Madrid Card. In my view it is not worth it.
Madrid Card Palacio Real
The card gives free access to Palacio Real from a separate skip the line entrance at Puerta de Santiago. In addition it offers shopping, dining, tour and sightseeing discounts.
Madrid iVenture Card
This is a card where you can load up packages of different attractions in Madrid. You can purchase online and collect the card on arrival in Madrid.
Madrid Tourist Travel Pass
This pass offers unlimited travel by all modes of transport in Madrid. It is a single user pass and cannot be transferred It is valid for 1,2,3,5, or 7 days. A good option for frequent travelers, or for children because they get a 50% discount. It is available for different zones of Madrid, the main ones being Zone A and Zone T.
Or you can buy the Metrobus, a 10 trips pass that can be shared by multiple people on the same trip. In a concentrated tourist city like Madrid, this becomes a good option where your use of public transport may not be very high.
Madrid has no discount cards that combine travel and sightseeing.
