Flamenco festivals in Seville

Are there flamenco festivals in Seville; when are they, and is it worth visiting during that time of the year?

Recommended answer

If you have a flexible calendar it is a great idea to visit Seville and surrounding towns during a Flamenco festival when the real passion of the locals and performers comes together for their own enjoyment and not as a tourist show.

The main flamenco festivals in Seville are:

Bienal de Flamenco

This is held every 2 years in September or October, for a 4 week period, in even numbered years. Events run across many venues including the smaller penas of Seville. The next biennial flamenco festival in Seville is in September 2018.
